1947 - 1957 Attended Angel Guardian Orphanage
June 9, 1957 Graduated from Angel Guardian High School
Sept. 11, 1957 Enlisted in the United States Marine Corps
1957 Basic training at Parris Island, SC.
1958 Advanced Infantry Training at Camp Geiger, NC.
1958 Returned to Parris Island, SC for additional schooling.
1958 - 1960 Transferred to Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown, Va.
1960 - 1961 To Naval Air Technical Training Center, Memphis, TN.
1961 Transferred to Sea School/Sea Pool Portsmouth, VA.
1961 - 1963 Assigned to the USS Boxer (LPH-4) flight Deck Operations. Participated in Cuban Crisis, President Kennedy's "People to People Program" final stop in the program was Triadad/Tobago Independance.
1963 Transferred to Marine Observation Squadron One, New River Air Facility, NC. Trained on and was qualified on OH-43D Helicopters in 1964 to Fort Worth, TX to attend Bell Helicopter Factory School.
Phasing in of H -1 Helicopters for the Marine Corps - Qualified on the UH-1E helicopter, became a flight crew trainer for combat skills - Participated in the Haiti Crisis, Santa Domingo Crisis, received Combat Air Crew Wings and 1st Air Medal during this conflict.
1964 - 1965 Participated in many Carribian deployments and European operations. Visited Spain, France & England during this operation. Returned to MCAF, New River, NC to attend Cold Weather training at Camp Drum, NY during Jan., Feb. then on to Escape and Survival School. Continued deployments through 1966 with the fairing of 6 helicopters to CA. to be given to VMO-6 who were deploying to Vietnam.
Early 1967 transferred to VMO (Marine Observation Squadron 2) at Marble Mountain, Vietnam - Became head of the Dong Ha, Vietnam detachment of VMO - 2. Operations included, KheSan, GeoLyn, ConTien, Quang Tri, Northern most providences of South Vietnam.
July of 1967 returned to Marble Mountain, Vietnam, shortly thereafter Dong Ha was blown up.
1968 transferred to Quantico, VA, became part of HMX-1(Marine Helicopter Squadron One) - The squadron that flies the President, start of my tenure with 4 Presidents covering 9 years, with another trip to visit Vietnam in 1971.
Became qualified on VH-1D helicopters, SH-3A/D helicopters and UH-46A/D helicopters - Became qualified on VH-1N helicopters and VH-3A/D Presidential Support Aircraft. - Involved in all aspects of Presidential Support from actually flying the President to the Vice-President and his cabinet. Visited all places the President went, as Rome, Yugoslavia, Japan, Korea, Monoco, Purto Rico along with Spain, France & England.
Nov. 1977 Retired from the Marine Corps
1978 - 1979 Attended a Virginia Community College, graduated "Student of the Year" in 1979
1979 Named to "Who's Who" Amoung Students at Junior Colleges" Received An Associate Degree in Business Administration. 1979 Transferred to Virginia Polytechnical Institute and State University.
Withdrew to begin working for Eckerd Drug. Returned to Tech one year later to complete my Batchelors Degree in Public Administration, graduated June 9, 1984 * (Note HS graduation date.)
Taught Applied Business Statistics at a VA Community College for two years.
Nov. 26, 2005 Retired from Brooks/Eckerd Drug.
Currently working Part-Time for Mohawk Marketing, received Master Certification from Sony Electronics Jan. 9, 2007.
